Have you ever watched a butterfly struggle to unfold from its cocoon? I wonder if the caterpillar knows she is becoming a butterfly as she wraps herself in her cocoon to drift off into her wintersleep. Does she envision herself as the butterfly she will become, or does she spend all her dreamtime reliving all her caterpillar struggles, pains and sorrows?
The dreaming caterpillar unfolding to butterfly is a journey that is a mirror to the divine transformation we can experience in this human form. We are, each of us, a part of a divine experiment. Our form arrives in this world equipped with all we need to experience this world – genetic blueprints, karmic baggage, past life histories and ancestral angst. We have great expectations of who we will become and how much we will be loved. We want the world to cherish us and by divine design, we are never satisfied. We carry our emotional pain and history, we struggle with our relationships and we develop illnesses. The divine trick is, like the caterpillar, we are sleeping.
Our pain and suffering is not who we are. It is our dreamtime and we have been experiencing it for thousands of lifetimes. But now, time is speeding up and the vibration of our planet is rapidly changing. Our wintersleep is coming to an end and the transformation to our butterfly has begun.
